Harrisburg
The population of Harrisburg is 54,238. It is the capital of PA. The governor of Harrisburg is Tom Corbett. Some of the history of Harrisburg includes: In 1719 John Harris Sr., an English trader was granted 800 acres. In 1785 John Harris Jr. laid out plans for a town on his father's land that he named Harrisburg. Harrisburg was named the capital of Pennsylvania in October 1812. There are many things to do in Harrisburg like: visiting museums like the National Civil War Museum, the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum,and the Susquehanna Art Museum. Also there are some attractions like the Whitaker Center for Science and Arts Theater. Also some parks like the Wild Wood Lake Nature Center, Riverfront Park, Italian Lake, and City Island. The area is 8.1 miles of land and 3.3 miles of water for a total of 11.4 area miles.
